Antique Burmese copper box with silver lid – Sil-0221
Rare older copper box for storing crushed dried lime. The lid is in silver, the sides are pure copper. A silver band finish the box. Inscriptions are chased into the underside. Remains of dried lime inside. Compared to age, it is in a fine condition. Weight 73 gram.

Antique Burmese copper box no. 221
A rare older copper box from Burma for storing crushed dried lime used in cooking and in a mixture with tobacco. The lid is made of silver, the sides are pure copper, and the box is finished with a silver band. Inscriptions and dates are chased into the underside, and traces of lime remain inside. These old copper boxes are extremely difficult to find today. Weight: 73 grams.
