Nice ornamented water protection bowl from the Shan states. 2 band consisting each of 8 animals separated in compartments. Used up side down so the waterbowls for the Buddha was secured agains falling leaves and smaller animals. In a very good condition. With a date on the bottom and fabelanimal.

Antique Burmese silver water protection bowl from the Shan States used to cover Buddha offering bowls.
Traditionally placed upside down to protect the inner water bowl from falling leaves and small animals. Decorated with two bands each consisting of eight animal motifs.
A fine example of religious silverwork in very good condition.
